Welcome to the web site of Ley Hill Cricket Club. We are a village
club near Chesham with three teams playing Saturdays in the Mid Bucks
League and a team in the Chess Valley Sunday League. Playing standards have risen in recent years, and
participation at junior and senior levels continues to grow but there are still opportunities for players of all levels. Our extensive coaching facilities have made our junior sides
very popular and consistently successful against local opposition. In 2006 the
club became the first in Buckinghamshire to receive Clubmark accreditation. |

 Easter Cricket School: |
| Our friends at Chesham Preparatory School are holding a cricket camp over the Easter holidays. More details can be found on the attached flyer here. |
| Adult Indoor Nets: |
| Adult nets will commence on Sunday 7March from 7 till 9pm at Westbrook Hay school. Sessions cost £3 each & following all three Saturday team's league results last season, we expect bumper attendances. |
| Sky Events: |
| A number of forthcoming sporting events will be available to view in the salubrious surroundings of Ley Hill Cricket Club. Dates for your diary are the Six Nations Rugby, Italy v Scotland & England v Ireland; 27Feb at 1.00. Six Nations Rugby, Ireland v Wales & Scotland v England 13March at 2.00. |
| New Fast Bowling Directives: |
| Following a 2 year consultation process, the ECB (in all their wisdom) have revised their fast bowling directives. Although only guidelines, they are designed to raise awareness of the need to nurture & protect young, fast bowlers through their formative years as research has shown that fast bowlers are by far the most likely players to miss playing & training time through injury. Strange then that in all but one age group both permitted overs per spell & maximum overs per day have increased. Follow this link to the new guidelines. Please note, Dave Peterson, Denis McCarthy & Steve Bell these are FAST bowling directives for JUNIORS; don't even bother looking! |
| Spring Tour: |
| Plans are now in place for a pre-season spring tour to Wales. More details can be found in the January Newsletter here, the tour is the brainchild of Pete Tucket & Jon Lown, dates are 4th - 6th May. Book early for what promises to a hoot! Sorry a highly beneficial pre-season training camp. |

| Statistics Galore: |
| There's been steam rising from Eleanor's calculator (Bill's abacus has long since worn out!) as the yearly & all time statistics have been updated here for all to see. Many thanks again to our intrepid secretary. |
| Junior Nets: |
| It's almost that time again! Junior nets are due to start Sunday 31st January. Please see this flyer for further details, especially U12&U13's preparing to go to Chesham Preparatory School. |
| Sir John Holman: |
| Those terrible Holman boys, Tom & Will, always did have a great dad. Well now they have an even greater, more famous, Knight of the Realm dad. See the attached for more details. Congratulations Sir John! |
| Final averages: |
| The 2009 season's final averages have been siting in my 'in box' for some time (sorry Eleanor) but have now at last been posted here. The respective team averages are to be found in their usual place. Following the annual presentation dinner, the award winners have been included into the 2009 Hall of Fame! |
| Tracksuits; |
| The new club tracksuits have been ordered & are expected next month in plenty of time for the start of the season! |
