Bovingdon go through to next round of
Hospice Cup
In a tense local derby, Bovingdon beat Ley Hill in the first
round of the Hospice Cup. Ley Hill ended on 146-3 from their 15 8-ball overs
with Jon Lown (37), Kaz Shakoor (36) and Andy Rennard (25) their top
scorers. Despite the poor light in this cold evening match, Bovingdon made
the winning total of 147 with an over to spare thanks largely to a superb
knock of 73 by opener Latif.
Proceeds from this charity competition go towards
providing a new building for the Hospice of St. Francis in Berkamstead. A
further £67 was raised from the raffle held in the pavilion after the match.
Bovingdon now have to play Flamstead in the second round.
