GOODBYE
BELLINGDON
When
Bellingdon C.C. folded during the winter it was decided they would have one
last match – against Ley Hill on Bank Holiday Sunday. In a game full of laughs and fun, Ley Hill
made 271-9 (skipper Rennard 69no and Kevin Phillips an excellent 83) and they
knew this would be a tall order for Bellingdon – some of whose players being
positively creaky.
At the
end Bellingdon had made a superb 153 for 14 wickets! They had brought a squad with them and
rotated them on the field and allowed everyone to bat.
It was
a wonderful day, so much so, they hope to make this an
annual fixture and to allow the name of Bellingdon Cricket Club to live on.
