Marlow Park 106-9 (R Sore 2-7-1) T Jeffrey (3-15-2) R Deane (2-8-2) A Partington (1-1-1)
Ley Hill 109-3 (B Woodbridge 10) (A Partington 31 n.o.) (T Jeffery 30 n.o.) T Cullen (18 n.o.)

Marlow Park were put into bat on a warm summers evening by the river. Rory Sore and Josh Wright opened the bowling for Ley Hill, with Rory making the early breakthrough in his second over. They were well supported by change bowlers, Tom Jeffery (3-15-2), Michael Morris (3-20-1), and Richard Deane (2 -8-2). Ben Woodbridge, Jamie Lewis, and Josh Wright all took good catches. Tom Jeffery and Josh Wright also ran out two batsmen with excellent pieces of fielding. This was Josh’s fourth run out of the season, and the only surprise was that he didn’t break the stumps with a direct hit! Marlow Park were reduced to 47-6 but managed a late rally to drag their score to 106-9.

Alex Partington and Ben Woodbridge opened the batting and got Ley Hill off to a positive start, before Ben was run out in the 4th over when the score was on 28. Alex and Jamie Lewis continued the good work until Alex had to retired (31 not out) in the 7th over, with the score in the late 40’s. Jamie Lewis then lost his wicket, and Tom Cullen joined Tom Jeffery at the crease. The two of them made easy work of what could have been a tough target with a 50-run partnership. They took the score to 105-3 before Tom Jeffery retired on 30 not out. Another quick wicket fell but Tom Cullen (18 not out) fittingly hit the winning runs with a boundary in the 16th over.

The man of the match award was given to Tom Jeffery by team manager Ian Partington.
