Revealed: The worst excuse of 2003
Jon Lown asked visitors to this web site to vote on the most pathetic
excuse for not playing that has been offered to him this season. The results are as follows:
The worst excuse of 2003 is: "My foot is hurting", perpetrated by Tom Holman, right.
Second place goes to "It's the mother-in-law's birthday", which came from the shamed lips of Nick Lee.
Third place is taken by "I'm going camping with half of Ley Hill", an excuse that can only have been used by popular family man Andy Rennard.
The contest attracted some other novel suggestions, including:
"I've booked a two-week holiday covering three Saturdays" (Jon Lown),
"I'm flying to America on Concorde" (Chris Jones, right),
And most cuttingly, "Any of Tom Holman's".
