WELL DONE TO OUR UNDER 11s
Tring Park 270; Ley Hill 199 (Barrington Rules)
Thank you to Phil Shepley for providing this report.
Despite the 71 run defeat, our U11 team showed some real steel with aggressive running and a never say die attitude. Tring did knock our players for a large number of wickets, which in Barrington rules can keep coming. However, the team kept going, with 3 U11 debuts for Caitlin West, Luke Gregory and Max Final and only the 2nd match for a good few others. Thanks also to Matty Ventham and Ollie Sussum for supporting the team from the U12.
Having won the toss, our Captain Jake Passingham put Tring into bat. Ollie and Teddy Sussum were our 2 most economical bowlers, each taking 2 wickets, with Luke, Max & Ed Sussum taking another 1 each. By rotating wicket keeping between the brave Ollie and Evelyn McEwen, we managed to give everyone 2 overs and limited Tring Park to 42 runs off the bat. However, extras and just 7 wickets allowed them to get to 270.
The total proved too much with Tring bowling well, taking 18 wickets (-5 runs each time) and limiting us to just 37 off the bat. Teddy and Ollie were also top scorers with the bat but hitting performances from Luke Gregory and Max Final are worthy of note, as was the aggressive running between the wickets from Tess Shepley & Caitlin.
This is a busy week with 3 matches and the team have started with a great attitude.
