LEY HILL 1st XI WIN AGAIN
Ley Hill 1sts 252-10 (47.3 overs); Wraysbury 2nds 136-10 (39.1 overs)
On Ley Hill's first visit to Wraysbury, the home side won the toss and decided to put Ley Hill into bat. Openers Ollie Runswick (48) and Craig Peterson (30) got the visitors off to a fine start with a first wicket stand of 74. The middle order all managed to contribute runs as well, but nothing outstanding until Suranga Daluwatta came to the wicket and proved his worth to the team with a quick fire 79 runs from 53 balls. The No 10 and No 11 batsmen went very cheaply, and with Nick Lee (24) retiring injured, the visitors ended up on 252 all out. Pick of the Wraysbury bowlers was Laq Chougle who took 5 for 61, supported by Imran Ahmed (2 for 42) and Andy Freeman (2 for 48). None of the Wraysbury batsmen really seemed to get to grips with the Ley Hill bowling, and the entire team was dismissed for just 136 runs. Top batsman was W. Afridi with 40 runs. Ley Hill's bowlers shared the wickets around, with Craig Ottaway taking 4 for 22 (which now takes him to over 600 wickets taken for Ley Hill in his career with them) and Suranga Daluwatta taking 4 for 35 (taking him to over 200 wickets taken for LHCC). Chris Morris (1 for 31) and Lewis Thompson (1 for 39) mopped up the remaining 2 wickets. A comprehensive score sheet can be found if you go to Documents and then to Scorecards.
