Ley Hill won the toss and skipper Paul Green decided to field. Wealdstone Corinthians scored steadily but also lost wickets at frequent intervals as well. The main damage was done by Paul himself, who took 4 wickets for 28 runs from 7 overs, whilst Freddie Ventham took 2 wickets for 37 runs from 6 overs and the other two wickets were very good run-outs by Douglas Petrie and James Lagdon. After the first wicket had fallen on 25, the WC batting stalled for a time, one wicket being lost on 72 and two further wickets falling on 73 runs. They then picked up momentum again and finished their 40 overs on 190-8. Best batting came from J. Wakeling who scored 68 before being run out.
In response, Ley Hill opened with Jon Lown and Douglas Petrie. Douglas was back in the pavilion after scoring only 18 runs, but James Lagdon (30 runs) then joined Jon at the crease and between them they put on 49 runs to take the score to 89. It remained there as Andrew Pace walked to the crease and back to the pavilion again, but Henry Sussum joined Jon for a final stand of 102 which took Ley Hill to victory. Henry ended up on 37 not out and Jon on 89 not out. Of the three wickets, N. Upadhaye took 2 for 53 from 8 overs and A. Samarth 1 for 37 from 8.
