Coleshill play two divisions below Ley Hill, but arrived apparently determined to do their best. Coleshill won the toss on a lovely sunny evening and put Ley Hill into bat. Shock, horror. Only 11 runs on the scoreboard and skipper Craig Peterson was back in the pavilion having scored just 4 runs. He was quickly followed by Lewis Thompson who only scored 1. However, opener Ben Moultrie-Ford stayed put and scored 49 before being caught. By this time the score was 112 but despite some desparate hitting from the remaining batters, Ley Hill could only make 145 off their 15 x 8 ball overs. The damage was done by Greenstreet (3 for 39); Chopra (2 for 27) and Shah (2 for 35).
In response, Coleshill’s batters scored far more rapidly than Ley Hill had done, hitting boundaries where we could only manage singles. Top scorer was Bradshaw with 56 not out, but they reached the target of 146 runs having lost only 5 wickets in just 13.7 8 ball overs. Wickets were shared between Scott Peterson (2 for 21), Henry Sussum (1 for 20) and Lewis Thompson (1 for 36). Bradshaw had particularly enjoyed Lewis’s third over, hitting him for 25 runs!
