The 2nd XI captain was also an absentee this week and so it was Nick Lee who took the 2nd XI to Bradenham. A Ley Hill team who were hoping to repeat their performance at Ley Hill when they won convincingly.
No record of who won the toss, but Ley Hill batted first. Top scorer was Nick himself with 57, followed by Jon Lown who was run out on 49. Next highest scorer was Dave Peterson, with 19 not out. Ley Hill finishing their 40 overs on 174-5.
Bradenham’s highest scorer was opener Hoddell with 38. Sadly, only one other Bradenham batter managed double figures (Billy with 17) and the entire team were bowled out for 101. Best Ley Hill bowling came from Kabir Rab with figures of 3 for 26 from 9.
A word here about scoring. I see that in both innings, run-outs have been credited to bowlers as wickets. This is incorrect. Run-outs do NOT count as a wicket taken by a bowler and should not be included in their figures as they were on this score card. They should be written in the bowling analysis as a dot ball with a line underneath to indicate where the run-out occurred.
