Skipper James Lagdon won the toss and elected to bat. Jon Lown and Andy Rennard opened and scored 32 and 21 respectively. Andy’s departure with the score on 51 brought Phil Bush to the crease and he made 54 runs. Nick Lee scored 13 runs and then Callum Wilson and James ended the innings with Callum on 38 not out and James run-out last ball of the innings for 6.
Wendover only had one batter who really came off – Kush at number 4 who scored 92 runs. He was supported by Sapumannage who scored 28 runs, T. Fish who scored 23 and Pandit who scored 13. No-one else achieved double figures and there were 5 ducks. When Wendover reached 193, it looked as though they were on target to win as they only needed 4 runs and had nearly 7 overs to get them, but James ran out the number 11 batter Z. Fish and Ley Hill were home and dry. Best bowling came from Paul Green who took 4 for 18 from 6 overs.
This win takes Ley Hill to second place in the league table for Division 2 of the Mid Bucks League and could mean promotion to Division 1.
